Tarantino versus Ritchie

Tarantino or Ritchie?Snatch and Lock stock and two smoking barrels have been long compared to Reservoir Dogs and pulp fiction. L&S&2&smoking barrels have been produced on a small budget with mostly unknown actors and when it became a box office hit Ritchie was suddenly compared to Tarantino. Ritchie just like Tarantino uses an unconventional storytelling device in his films.
And as one american critic said:"You have to give the British credit. Whenever we Americans come up with some really tasty bit of protean popular culture, like as not our former colonizers pick it up and take it a step further. We invented rock 'n' roll; the British produced the Beatles. We invented techno and house music; the British transformed them into a worldwide culture. We gave birth to Quentin Tarantino; the British answered with Guy Ritchie."

One of my favourites

I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

London,London who loves you most?
You the pearl of Britain, the city of all nationalities, the city of opportunities and excitment will you take me under your wings?

change of guards

Millenium Bridge

St. Paul's Cathedral
London, 1802 by William Wordsworth
Milton! thou should'st be living at this hour:
England hath need of thee: she is a fen
Of stagnant waters: altar, sword, and pen,
Fireside, the heroic wealth of hall and bower,
Have forfeited their ancient English dower
Of inward happiness. We are selfish men;
Oh! raise us up, return to us again;
And give us manners, virtue, freedom, power.
Thy soul was like a Star, and dwelt apart:
Thou hadst a voice whose sound was like the sea:
Pure as the naked heavens, majestic, free,
So didst thou travel on life's common way,
In cheerful godliness; and yet thy heart
The lowliest duties on herself did lay.

this makes me feel SOOOOOOOOO good
I went to london for a makeover, I was pampered for a day, had a haircut, a bit of make up, drunk champagne and watched gay hairdressers styling women's hair. This is the result. It makes me feel good (and vain) at the same time.

This is what happens: you get the hair cut, hair dye, make up and champagne for free? Sounds too good to be true? Well it is! then you get invited to have a look at the pics that were taken by a professional photographer, bad move, they charge £50 for a 7x5 photo, What a rip off! I got one for free and the other one at reduced price.
Photographer:"How much are you looking to spend on these photos?
Me: "Not much, i just want the one that's free"
P:"But you know people spend thousands on photos like this"
M:"well, in that case they are stupid"
P:"You could give some of them to your boyfriend,you look so beautiful in them"
M:"i don't have a boyfriend"
P:"you could put them in a frame and hang them on your wall"
M:"what for, i don't want to be looking at myself,how vain"
P:"you could give them to your male friends or boyfriend"
M:"I don't have any male friends or boyfriends"
P:"do you want me to be your boyfriend?"
M:"I don't want a boyfriend,thanks"
P:"I would like to take you out sometime"
M:"I am too busy"
I did get a discount and managed to buy one of them for £30 instead of £50, still, a total rip off! so i've got 2 pics now and don't know what to do with them, definitely not putting them in a frame and hanging them on my wall, so they are at the moment collecting dust on one of my shelves. Moral of the story: don't bother with expensive photos!
